healthcare crisis. Crisis ? What Crisis... (supertramp) I thought it was all gonna work out ? I just gotta be an optimist and send a cheque and another and another... and bigger and bigger.. :O)

Seiously..
Healthcare has gone from bad to worse in the twenty some odd years I've been in Ontario. It's always in crisis... so much so that Bob Rae (for whom I voted ;o) actually rolled back salaries in health care and elsewhere...

Whenever times are tough what gets cut ? Beds.. doctors.. nurses.. services... management .. no NOT management.. they need to go to meetings to decide things like the next meeting... and how to spend far too much money on a computer system... say! aren't those American systems pricier ? and need lots of mods too I bet eh! yeah that's the ticket... Now let's see what else.. Oh let's have some services that go though OHIP be billed through a doctor who will take better that 50% of the fee for really just an accounting service but we figure people will feel safer... and then when it gets to expensive we'll just can it... unless we get more money of course...

They (management) also needs to be there to explain the next crop of politicians and or million dollar consultants why we need to cut nurses, beds and doctors but NOT management when the next crisis arrives...

The government needs to go right into the system at ground level.. As long as they get the news from the sames sources every other government has nothing will change... It's really that simple... really.

As to guns... I'm not advocating guns at all. You know that. Just pointing out where the gun registry money should have been spent.. If the gun registry makes you feel safe good for you... You shouldn't be afraid anywhere in Winnipeg then should you ? It's interesting also to me that in the 10 years I've lived in my current neighbourhood I've noticed far fewer folks walking in the evenings and at night. Are they all watching Paris or some other trash (IMO) and vegging on the chesterfield ? No. The muggings and home invasions have increased a lot though. The gun registry hasn't (and won't I'll add) change that. There is not point in going further I guess since you do not see that blinded by optimism.. I guess I just wish my tax dollars were better spent... silly me.. and of course remember how much of the initial registry woes were to a computer system alone , 120 million was ?, that just didn't work ... Man I wish I could get consulting work like that..... Your report doesn't even need value to collect ...
