My concern now is, how important is Image Stabilization?

Not a must have at short lens lengths, but amazingly useful with long ones -- over 100mm, 35mm equivalent. I work with a 70-200 IS Canon lens that makes possible sharp hand held photos in light levels at least four times as dim as without IS.

NHP - Well I'm still prejudiced...a movie camera has to look like a movie camera. I don't care how good they say it is, it can only be any good provided it looks like a movie camera<g>

Best,

L

Good Article in 19 May 05 WSJ on digital file formats.
Page B1
"How TIFF, RAW Help Pricey New Digitals Produce Better Pictures."

I think that we are familiar with most of contents of the article, although RAW(as a format) is new to me.

The article steered me to openraw.org where I found some important information on RAW. Take a look!
