But I think the 2nd explanation is more believable If Bush were merely paralyzed by the attacks on 9/11, he would certainly have not done everything in his power to make sure that there was no investigation by the Congress. He would certainly not have done everything in his power to prevent an "independent" blue-ribbon commission from being formed, and he most certainly would not have attempted to limit its funding once he could no longer prevent the Commission from being organized. If he were merely paralyzed, he certainly would not have attempted to hire the best cover-up artist in Washington, Henry Kissinger, to head the Commission, and he wouldn't have maneuvered the leadership to Gov. Tom Kean with his links to Middle Eastern oil nor Lee Hamilton who now has a perfect track record of not finding any government malfeasance in four out of four major investigations he's been involved with. Frankly, Calculated Risk, I think you have a vastly under-rated George Bush, calling him a doofus. George Bush is an excellent actor. He poses as a doofus for the sake of gaining an empathetic response from the pews full of trailer trash Republicans who adore him. But the real George Bush is a very cynical, very cunning and very sinister operator who the public never quite sees for what he really is. That look on George Bush's face on 9/11? He knew something. Something that is a terrible secret. That America has been betrayed from within. Take another long look at George reading "My Pet Goat": thememoryhole.org There's a reason that Karl Rove and Frank Luntz go ballistic when that book is mentioned. Because when it is, people start to think that we need to read books like "9/11 - Synthetic Terror: Made in the U.S.A." tinyurl.com *** Re: I agree that Bush's reaction is scary - Cheney's and Rumsfeld's are even more so. They were the commanders of the operation. And they've done nothing but cover-up their tracks ever since.
