No one needed to "smear" Kerry. He was so unlikeable and ran such a bad campaign that he lost on his own!

He was the worst choice the democrats could have made!

Yeah they would have smeared him anyway. But they smeared him right in his nose (centerpiece). You get a lot more blood when you punch someone in the nose.

Bush's military career was definitely open to smears too. But he kept his career at arms length, so when the left smeared his military career all Bush got was a sore thumb. Then couple that with the Rather Memogate...Bush was almost restored. No one doubts that Bush TANG career was a joke and a position for the privileged few, and he abused that privilege as well...by simply transferring and deferring.

Kerry's campaign team are a bunch of nearsighted Bozos. Score one for Rove. Sure he fights dirty...but who didn't know that already? Then you have to be prepared with a plan A, B and C. All Kerry's team had was Plan Bozo.
