I do think that in general, in the realm of social policy, compassionate and liberal seem to go together. I am aware that people of all persuasions can be compassionate, but with conservatives it SEEMS to be more acts of private compassion. With liberals, they like compassion written into law. I would never think that a conservative individual could not act compassionately. I think maybe you are taking some of the broad statements here too personally. It certainly is not my intent to make anyone angry or insult them. People say just horrible things about Democrats and liberals here, also, things that would make my blood boil if I took them seriously.
