Social Security is the biggest problem that needs to be addressed immediately. Each year we wait to start repairing the damage increases the ultimate cost of solvency.

The reason people do not want to fix it now is that acknowledging the debt and budgeting to expunge it will drastically reduce the amount of fun money to spread around on pork.

We cannot push this forward forever. By 2017 the whole thing will come crashing down like a house of cards. The response of our legislators is to fatten up their free ride retirement account. They do not have to defer income, they just vote themselves a nice free ride retirement account so embarrassingly generous that would make whore blush.

Why don't legislators care, they are shouting "Let Them Eat Cake!" from their free fat feathered nest.

Compared to Social Security the crooked books at Global Crossing and the other dot bomb corporations look downright clean and honest. Until we get mad, nothing will get done.
