They've got Jihad, we've got Crusade. Is there a difference? Yeah. We were doing Crusades 800 years ago. They're doing Jihad now.

Hi Chris Jihad in Islam is of disparate forms... when you strive to abide by an exemplary moral standard, that is Jihad... when you travel far to get an education, that is Jihad, when you defend your country, that is Jihad... and the list goes on and on... however, and unfortunately, the current use of it does not reflect all that... Chris, there is a saying of the Prophet, that the highest form of Jihad, is saying what is right to a tyrant ruler... which the fanatics are not heeding... if these fanatics really understood Islam, and they wanted the highest reward for Jihad, they would raise their voices against their rulers before anything else... You probably have a good understanding of what the crusades were for. Hence, I am not going to go there. AV

Chrisitanity has not practiced anything close to the crusades in hundreds of years. Religious tolerance is the cornerstone of tolerance for developed countries in Western Europe and North America. Meanwhile, we stand back and pat the back of these backward ass countries in the Middle East that rely on medieval acts of torture to keep their people in line. Women are executed for inexcusable reasons, foreigners are kidnapped and beheaded for jihad, infidels are hunted down by issue of fatwas. The problem with Islam is that it encourages people to take the law into their own hands. I think it is a contradiction that so many liberal democrats make excuses for the practice of religious intolerance by these tyrannical religious groups. We seem to encourage their religious intolerance in the media which sympathizes with their acts of terror. The same group that supports the removal of religion from every classroom and public institution makes excuse after excuse for the terrorist activities of death loving terrorists that blow up buses full of women and children, attack schools, execute stations full of policemen, etc... Why do so many people want to take sides with these kind of people? If we lose 1 little kid in the US, we have an Amber alert issued within minutes. I can't imagine living in a society like Islam that puts such a low value on the meaning of life. Meanwhile, their governments use oil vouchers to reward the terrorists in every country to continue the war against all Christians and Jews. I am glad for the process of democracy that is beginning in the Middle East. We still have a big group of block heads in Iran to think about, but I think the military is effectively destroying the insurgents at the ground level. It would not surprise me if some of the big leaders are captured this summer. The net has to be closing around bin laden.
