with only hopes and dreams and VC cash on which to survive.... Well Gee John, how many companies go for VC that don't need it to survive? Shall we just flush all the companies that want VC that actually need it - ya think? Cisco is one company that didn't need the VC they accumulated, at least in the later rounds. So theres one. Oracle needed investment and got it- from the US govt in their case. Since they weren't profitable from day one maybe we should have let that fruit die on the vine then? You guys are too much.
