One of my broadcast sites is a few miles upstream of the blast site. Gas companies are setting rigs on almost every 40 acre tract in that part of the county. They are using radial directional drilling and drill 8 to 12 holes on most of the pads. They frac on multiple levels.

The creeks such as Mamm creek have been showing benzine in the water over the last few years and Encana is denying that the well cases are leaking. And our county officials are oking more and more drilling permits.

The radioactive half life of that device was 7 years if I remember and the talk of Garfield county residents is that the radiation has already degraded to a safe level.

We continually rub Alladin's lamp hoping the genie will be friendly and grant our wishes. Damn hard to put him back once he is out of the lamp.

And that is one big lamp underground in Western Garfield county.
