Maybe it's just because I see life like that (that things are always more complicated than they seem.) that I prefer movies that have clear heroes and clear villains, and a conclusive resolution. Maybe it's laziness, but sometimes I just need to take a vacation from real life when I go to the movies.

How did you get the uplift from the movie? I'm not familiar with those other movies you mentioned.

The best movie ever made in my opinion was "Lonesome Dove." It was a TV miniseries movie based on the book by Larry McMurtry. The good guys were conflicted to be sure, but they knew right from wrong and acted on their principles because there was no one else to do it for them. One of their buddies fell in with some very bad guys, and when Gus and Call caught him with the others, they hanged him along with the bad guys. The scene where they hanged him was probably the most powerful scene of the movie, in which there were many.
