Frozenchosen -

Possible fix for your Tiger vs. DLink router problem, from Macfixit.com:

"I installed Tiger yesterday and experienced the wireless router issues reported on the front page. I have a D-Link 624 router, although I know there are similar problems with other routers as well.

"There is a very easy fix. Go to System Preferences, Sharing, and shorten the Computer Name. I'm hearing it should be one word, less than 20 characters. Worked for me."

I'd be interested in knowing the names of the various computers in your household. Specifically, what is your wife's computer's name?

My Tiger score so far

Installed Tiger on four machines. My two G3 iBooks, and my gal's G4 iBook as well as her G4 PowerBook. Smooth as butter in all four cases, no problems what so ever. Zero. (knocking on wood)

P.S. I've been told that Tiger will not boot in OS9 on G3 machines. In case you've heard the same, don't believe it. My G3 iBooks boot in OS9 just like they did before Tiger.

Tiger the Turtle upgraded to Jack Rabbit.

The Mac Mini that I reported earlier as being a turtle has gotten significantly faster. Must have been the initial spotlight indexing slowing things down.

I give it 2 points now, upgraded from 1.

Still running iBook on Panther.
