Re: Do you remember when a high end CPU cost $1200 and a coprocessor cost $800 for what is now an obsolete technology. I recall being in an INTC fab and was shown a 6 inch wafer with coprocessors that was valued at $100k per wafer... basically, a cassette of 25 wafers paid for a piece of semi equipment and all of its spares and support....we are not likely to see those kind of profits again, unless there is a paradyme technology shift that is currently in development. I also remember the $9000 Apple Lisa computer. Just because prices have come down does not mean that profits are not to be had. Your statements consistently are at odds with reality.
