As a conservative libertarian, I don't spend time thinking about what other people ought to think or do. A movie is no more satisfying to me if it enlightens folks like ionesco than if it doesn't. I think if liberals just butt out of everyone else's business, the world would be a happier place.

That said, it's liberals and Democrats who march in lock step, every step of the way. Thinking outside the box is a hallmark of conservative doctrine.
