Out of all the "investigations" I can think of in the last 30 years, I doubt any really answered all the questions--except maybe Watergate. Do you think after spending $70M on Whitewater and all the rest that Ken Starr answered all the questions for you? I doubt it. Do you think as the 2008 capmpaign nears we won't be hearing these questions raised again about Hilary? And if the Swift Boat garbage worked against Kerry, ya think we'll be hearing about Vince Foster again, too? You bet we will. But as I said before, whether Bush is a liar doesn't hinge solely on one issue. He can't wiggle out from under the torture issue(for which NO senior commander is paying the price)-which has possibly done more damage to our image abroad than anything else we've done in the last 2 years. Fer chrissakes the attorney freakin general called the Geneva Convention "outdated." Or was it "quaint?" Bush is not exporting democracy. He's exporting free-market capitalism, with the intent to benefit the same corporations abroad as his policies benefit at home. And he intends to use the UN to augment the IMF to further bully friend and foe alike to heel to his agenda. He calls himself an environmentalist, yet Texas had the worst environmental record and some of the dirtiest air in the nation when he was governor. Not to mention that we all know he wants to gut the clean air act, which is really his program for bringing the price of gas down. Oh yeah-one more word: arsenic. The man has turned the phrase "Presidential library" into an oxymoron, stashing his father's papers in a locked vault and transferring all his own records as governor into the same vault. He's turned the Freedom of Information Act inside out, classified mountains of documents that would never have been classified before, held fewer press conferences than any president in the last 50 years and doesn't believe he's ever made a mistake as president. How can he not be perceived as having something to hide whenever he opens his mouth? Bolton has been accused of witholding intelligence from none other than the Secretary of State. Bush backs him 100%. Otto Reich, twice chastised by Congress for breaking US law during his tenure in central America in the 80's, became undersecretary of state for Latin America in another of Bush's recess appointments-avoiding any congressional scrutiny. Bush backs him 100%. John Poindexter, convicted of 5 felonies related to Iran-Contra, was backed by Bush 100%(until he self-destructed). How many liars can Bush appoint and still avoid the label himself? As far as a legislative agenda is concerned, this administration is so deeply duplicitous, the word "lies" becomes one of the few words worthy of describing the doubletalk. But enough already, I repeat myself. Hey, who had the puts on the airlines Sept 10? I'll bet Bush knows. And I'll bet it's some of his family friends in the House of Saud.
