You know, watching the American car companies fumble so badly with their mix of vehicles really reinforces the whole 70s scenario in my mind. Absolutely NO innovations in fuel efficiency from the US.

If this is the same article I read while traveling, the article says what the CURRENT plan lacks.

Bush lacks a decent hybrid plan.

RE: "I attended a public meeting on the Bush energy policy"

And I've visited DOE in the past.

In a nutshell, the underlying issue is the DOE folks are not aligned with the American public.

Can you guess why?
