Cheney's daughter was not attacked, she was praised, and her father was praised for loving her. Before that, she was openly gay. Get it? OPENLY. Which means it's not a smear to say you're gay. Barney Frank is gay. That's not a slur, he could care less if you say that. Elron John is gay. Mary Cheney is gay. Same thing. Many rightwingers kick their kids out of their homes and disown them for being gay, like Randall Terry did. Even though they are probably closet cases themselves. Randall Terry has as much testosterone as a gerbil. What Kerry was doing ws calling for moderation with the gay-hating in order to try and silence some of the Randall Terry types. It didn't work. They're hypocritical hatred was too fierce.
