Obviously you missed my point. They need to be taught good food habits by someone- not everyone will figure it all out, as you did. I'm not sure the penalty for becoming a junk food addict when you are a child, when billions in advertising is aimed at you so that you become that, should be that we feed you crap in school too.

I've no idea what the car thing has to do with it. Good food costs the same as crap, in some cases it costs less, because crap tends to be branded, so it's not really a cost issue, but even if it were, I think the investment in children is worth it. Perhaps you do not.
