BACKLASH. What kind of a self-appointed man-of-God doesn't apologize for what he did to his parishoners? Whatever happened to humility in the church? Whatever happened to vows of poverty?

Why do Catholics vote Republican when the fundamentalists who run the party (along with closeted gays) claim that Catholics aren't even Christians?

WAYNESVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA -- A Baptist preacher accused of running out nine congregants who had disagreed with his Republican politics resigned Tuesday, two days after calling the issue "a great misunderstanding."

Speaking at East Waynesville Baptist Church, Rev. Chan Chandler said it would "cause more hurt for me and my family" if he stayed. Chandler's lawyer said the pastor has not apologized for anything he said.

Some at the church said Chandler last year urged anyone who planned to vote for Democratic presidential nominee Sen. John Kerry to "repent or resign
