"thought the list would contain things like, you go to jail if you don't go to mass on Sundays" It is probably a hidden agenda for time being However, as an elected official the Pres and any other elected official is NOT a free agent. They are elected to SERVE the People in their public life and work. Since in the United States you are founded upon the Right to Religious Freedom, your officials are bound to serve KNOWING that the People they serve do NOT ALL believe in the same exact God. Many are Christian, but do not belong to the same church, many are NOT Christian but worship another way. Some simply DO NOT embrace ANY God related values(smart ones). Taking a political office means accepting that YOUR personal Spiritual beliefs and values can continue to serve YOUR needs, but that you do not have the right to force your beliefs on the people you serve. You do not have the right to force others to your personal religious values. You are supposed to Serve the needs of your people as a whole and not confuse your job with that of a religious leader, whose job WOULD BE!
