Delay paid $500,000 to his wife

Delay's campaign paid $500,000.00 to his wife and daughter over a four year period for work they performed on behalf of the Congressman...just as many dems do...like for instance, Joe Lieberman......

As usual, you are a clueless moron blindly repeating demolib talking points with no real idea as to what you are saying.....the epitome of thread moron.....

J.

The truth about paid travel by our legislators:

The DeLay Derby

Wizbang has numbers on the trip-taking tendencies of the U.S. Congress. They're very interesting. The only thing I've been sure of throughout the DeLay dust-up is that he certainly can't be the only one. According to these numbers, compiled by Northwestern journalism students (take a cue from these guys, WaPo and NYT reporters), DeLay comes in at 29th on the list of the top 100 Congressional junket jet-setters. From Wizbang:

Democratic Party

Percentage of seats in Congress controlled (currently): 46%
Number of trips for party members: 2729
Total spent on party members: $7,805,362.87
Percentage of total spent on party: 54.3%
Percentage of the top 100 travelers (by cost): 57%

Republican Party
Percentage of seats in Congress controlled (currently): 54%
Number of trips for party members: 2095
Total spent on party members: $6,512,990.35
Percentage of total spent on party: 45.3%
Percentage of the top 100 travelers (by cost): 43%

Bonus Stat: Tom DeLay comes in a lowly 29th on the list of top 100 Congressional trip takers, though he does score two trips in the top 5 most expensive individual trips.

Former Sen. John Breaux (D-La.) took top honors, taking $158,000 in trips since 2000. Lots of interesting information in the study, here. Find out where your Congressmen are flying.
