I love the idea of developing security overseas. There's a law that says you can't ship/sell certain security to certain countries, but there's no law that says you can't develop it overseas, now is there?

US Govt doesn't want to adequately invest in research? Fine, we'll just offshore security - the very stuff that makes the US govt nervous.

We need to stop asking the US govt to get its act together. Time to get tough. Make the US govt irrelevant to hightech shareholders. Let the govt take a hike, let them mess this country up. But be sure to make the US govt's screw ups irrelevant to hightech investors - by getting product producing corporations out of the USA. Oh, and take with you...America's best security scientists.

Amy J
PS Goog is still a product company - they produce code - just a marketing decision to package product as a service

PSS Enterprise mkt going down because marketing hasn't executed product into a service model

PSS Heard there are 1m people managing money. Doesn't anyone produce anything any more? Feels like this country lives off of the handful of people that actually produce things.

Brian, I'm sort of aghast as to why Bush would give the real estate industry yet another tax credit at this stage of the game, rather than the hightech industry (or any other industry) that actually invents something and creates value for our country.

But hey, nothing like encouraging the middle class to buy at the top of a real estate bubble:

Comments from the real estate thread:

...."thats like grating fingers on the chalk board..."

"Excellent, at least the president is in touch with the real economy. We need to get the housing market going, it's obviously in a slump. No clue as to who to get US corporations to hire US workers, so let's direct attention to where it's not needed."

"I think corporate profits are up, but employment is down. Bush wants us all to be carpenters, like Jesus! To build more houses to be flipped. Maybe he also believes houses just go up in value."
