I am not a Dan Quayle fan and think he was dumb even for a Vice President, where there haven't been many brilliant holders of that office. But Bentson was out of line with his comments. Quayle was not saying he was another Kennedy. He was simply stating that he wasn't just a by the book conservative and that he backed some of the issues a liberal icon had backed.

However, I will never forgive him for picking on my love child with Candace Bergen.
