Don't be naive. Al Qaida has quadrupled in size since Bush invaded Iraq. IOt has also morphed and grown many new arms. To them this is Jihad. To other factions it's also civil war.

Why do they target Iraqis? Because they know that if the US fails to build a strong Iraqi military and police force then we lose because US troops cannot patrol the place. Even with 180,000 personnel over there and hundreds of billions of dollars we cannot even secure the highway to the Baghdad airport.

Remember, when Bush was kissing Prince Abdula, the top Saudi judge was announcing to SA citizens that it was OK to go to Iraq and fight for Jihad by killing Americans. He advised SA Jihadists to beware of aerial surveillance and predator drones.

Bush has made the war on terror worse. If anything good comes out of Iraq long-term we will be very lucky. Short term, all we can do is say we got rid of Saddam. But remember, Saddam was not necessarily a threat to us when he was in power. He was more of a threat to the Shias and Kurds.
