Bad news in one sense; in another, it's entirely in keeping with their track record for the better part of a decade.

As for the file system, that stuff is what, in the beginning, Sun was supposed to be good at. Another dollop of disgrace.

As for the Linux thunk layer, who cares. That's a joke in search of a problem anyway...emulators are just a slow way of flushing money down the toilet. They never work quite right, the customer base is never very happy or very big, and they always end up as projects that seemed like good ideas at the time. (I know, I know, VMware is fabulous dahhhhling.) The only upside of this is that it will show up as a cost reduction on an income statement one day. Who knows, maybe layoffs from that project alone will help them miss by only a penny one of these quarters :-).

Charles, I am just back from 3 week vacation, MANY SUNW POSTS. Unusual, is it GOOD or Bad? You dont think they are putting things off till AFTER a buy out to screw us do you? jdn
