Palestine has been a predominantly arab-speaking muslim land for many centuries Why does it seem like a contradiction, that most Israelis speak & understand Arabic, whilst at the same time most Palestinians speak & understand Yiddish.

Hawk, You are good at this. You seem to know where to focus to counteract his clear bias. I would ask one more question of him. How could the Arab states allow the refuges, who were indeed their own people, to suffer in such squalor for so long. No other nation, no other people would stand idly by and allow, no insist, that their people live in such squalor. Why did they do it? To scapegoat israel and deflect criticism from their own regimes. Indeed there would have been peace decades ago if not for the Arab leaders. Mike
