Amy, Then you should be fully aware of the mistakes that doctors make Yes, I am aware, but at a certain point the lawsuits fail to enforce higher-quality care. That's when they just become a money grab for lawyers and their clients, and doctors just make up for it by either eating the higher malpractice premiums or closing down private practices in favor of HMOs. As for technology, well, we haven't even perfected speech recognition. How are computers supposed to replace doctors and nurses when it comes to "identifying skin tonality and detecting small changes and patient movement" to predict heart attacks? And who do you sue if the computer messes up? Tenchusatsu
