Because of the chain of command. We keep coming back to this same point over & over and you just can't accept the fact that shit rolls downhill in the military and the covert guys that instigated this whole 'softening up' deal are long gone. Refuse to be involved, if you are a reservist from Podunk USA with a ged? (good enough diploma) You will end up walking point in the most dangerous hood in Baghdad, counting the minutes off before you get zapped by the bad guys. Yeah, that is a great option...
