NVLS Novellus comments at Piper Jaffray conference (24.81 +0.95)

Co notes, for 2005, capex forecasts supposed to be anywhere from single digit positive or negative. Co notes it will continue to see unit growth go up. Mgmt notes if you look at products today, the co has kept its industry leading cost of ownership, combined with its technology. Co believes this all bodes well for the future, noting it expects to grow its market share going forward.

Dropping oil prices will just encourage OPEC to curtail
pumping to maintain high prices. Another economic
consideration is that economic GDP is estimated to be around
3.7% which gives impetus for the FED to keep raising interest
rates. Unfortunately, good economic news is viewed as bad news. The U of M consumer sentiment was around 85.3 and
lower than Aprils poll of 87.7. Another "negative" is that inventories are rising again, even though consumer spending
increased for April.
