Ted, Yes, there is..........it states that EVERYONE is protected...not just Christians or Republicans.

That includes pedophiles and polygamists too. Where in the "equal protection" laws does it say that pedophiles and polygamists are excluded?

Ahhhh.........I wondered when you would get to them. They too are protected under the law. However, equal protection doesn't mean you can break the law. It means that along with the protection comes a certain responsibility to comply with the law. It also means there is an equal application of the law. Pedophiliacs are a real problem because most of them don't get that they are breaking the law and a problem for society.

For that reason, I suspect we are going to run into some serious trouble over this issue in terms of how we deal with pedophiliacs in our society. In most states, this group increasingly is hounded unmercifully.......to the point where its very difficult for them to live and work. I bet in the not too distant future, some community will pass a law which so oversteps on the rights of the pedophiliac that it will be ruled unconstitutional by a judge. That should be when all hell breaks loose.

Pedophiliacs are a real problem in a society and I suspect will test the will of this democracy. They are a people who typically as a group are unrepentant, and tend to believe that what they do is good and healthy. Aside from the fact, I detest them........they scare me.........because they truly do not seem to know what they do. And I suspect a backlash is building against them and that it will be huge.

As for gay marriage, gays are attempting to test the law, not break it. Since it's an agreement between two consenting adults, its very hard for a judge to rule against them.

So I suggest if you find yourself consistently running counter to the rulings of judges, you might ask yourself where your thinking is faulty instead of blaming the judges.

I could say the same thing to you regarding the other two-thirds of government, namely the legislature and executive branches, but even after all the election losses of the past five years, I don't see much "introspection" on your part.

I don't think you have ever believed that I am an independent nor fully understood what that means. As for the WH and Congress, despite their electoral successes I don't think they truly represent what Americans think. I think their current good fortune has more to do with certain events and the fortuitous benefits the GOP has reaped from them. I find it hard to believe that Americans can strongly believe in a group who are so careless with spending and fairly incompentent in their dealings with the world. In fact, I believe the only real sanity left in this nation resides with the judges.

However, even if you are right, I know what I believe is correct and is in keeping with the American Constitution even if no one else agrees. ;~)
