And we can't even say that no one knew this would happen, because we were warned. And warned by people who should know. Yes. But even that aside, we largely have the insurgency because we acted like ***-holes. We have consistently trumpeted our superiority militarily, economically and governmentally, and persisted in trying to shove it down their throats. Even worse, we sent very mixed messages regarding our economic interest wrt to invading Iraq. People universally dislike being sat on. Its hardly surprising when some being sat on bite your ankles.
