The army is trying to increase enlistments with a bait and switch scheme. news.bbc.co.uk But after training, they will be able to serve for as little as 15 months on active duty followed by two years in the National Guard or Army Reserve. They can serve the remainder of their eight-year term in the active or inactive reserves or in programmes such as Americorps or the Peace Corps. Of course once in, they will be subject to the virtual draft of stop-loss orders. TP
