re: "It's just political rhetoric to say we are not in a civil war. We've been in a civil war for a long time," said Pat Lang, the former top Middle East intelligence official at the Pentagon.

That's the first time I've seen the "CW" words used in the mainstream media; it's about time.

Yes, I was surprised as well. Its a break through....finally.

If the "civil war" talk spreads throughout the media, Americans won't have the patience to sacrifice their kids and their economy for Iraq.

We can only hope. Its clear Americans are unhappy with the war but are they ready to take to the streets? That's the key. This administration will not act until they see serious and repeated demonstrations in the key cities of this country.

The only way we could "solve" this thing is an attempt at an indiscriminate Sunni bloodbath. Does anyone really want to go there?

I am not sure that that would work. Look at Fallujah.....it was supposed to be the key to breaking the back of the insurgents. It was a miserable failure and now we will have to spend billions to rebuild the damn place.

Seriously, John, I never knew how crazy this country is. We are certifiably nuts! Seriously.......I can't think of any other democratic nation that would have gotten themselves into such an unnecessary mess. Think about it. Saddam was not doing anything to us. We went looking for this trouble.

Stupid is as stupid does!
