To get to the basic underlying situation" #1. The US Government has a law on its books.
a) The US Government should NOT be breaking its own law.
b) The US Government should enforce its own law.
c) IF it does not enforce its own law, then the law should be taken off the roll as a law.

I think we have to get to that base, decide the question at hand, and deal with the answer.

All the other applications/questions/situations that arise from allowing undocumented people to enter and stay in this country can be addressed after we as a citizenry decide if we want to have totally open borders, or don't we.

There should be NO gray to this question.
