We had terrorists in the US before 9-11. 9-11 showed the American citizens just how unwise it was to not adhere to our own US Laws.

I am continually mindful that it only took 19-20 who were in the US to cause Thousands of deaths, and BILLIONS of dollars of damage.

Again c2....It is the GOVERNMENT that either needs to take this Illegal Immigrant OFF the books entirely, OR enforce its own law.

Right now, people are breaking the US Government Law, because the US Government doesn't care enough to do something about the Law.

The Government is, in fact, breaking its own Law.

I agree with you, that perhaps fewer laws is probably the answer.

BUT I will say again....IF and WHEN we are attacked again, IF we survive as a country (I believe we will), but then the question becomes at what cost?

How many Thousands, or Millions will have to die because we were so stupid in this day and age not to be careful.

What will be the financial cost---to not only the US-- but to all the countries in the world that rely on the US in one form or another.

A tight border would cost untold billions to enforce.

Ain't that the truth.

According to the FBI, in 2003, the numbers that crossed in or out of US borders are:

489 million people
127 million cars
11.6 million containers
11.5 million trucks
829,000 planes
211,000 boats

Those numbers are certainly higher now. In 2003, we were still recovering from 9-11.
