yeah
alcohol has its positive side, and its VERY very very negative side. But banning it didn't work, and banning pot has not worked, and will not work- that's just absolutely clear as crystal. It's time for even the rabid to get on the wagon to decriminalize it. I could much more easily become a crusader against the demon drink than a crusader against pot- but even I know that the demon drink, no matter how much havoc it causes, is an established part of our culture, and people will not accept it's criminalization. Time for people who love their whiskey, to realize the same thing about pot. Let people have their poisons, and go after the abuses, rather than stopping people from the get go. It would take the drug cartels out of the picture, take away the criminal cachet, clean out our jails, stop the stigmatizing of people who are not violent criminals- but end up marked as felons, etc. We've tried the "war" on drugs- and we lost. Time to do something else- unless we just want to be like the insane, trying the same thing over and over, yet hoping for a different result.
