I"m sorry you've had to deal with that your whole life and am very glad it's improving, Sidney. The two periods during which I was in that sort of "tar in my veins" depression were terrible, one much worse than the other. Someone asked me in a PM whether I'd gotten therapy. I did go to a therapist, but, I explained, not until I was already coming back to life. I couldn't. Hard to explain. I almost think the depression I experienced was a sort of protracted shock.

As I also told the person who PM'd me, we already had a healthy son, and now have two wonderful grandchildren (who are going to come and spend two weeks with us in July!) and a dear daughter in law who is like a daughter to me, and who is as good and loving to N and me as she could be if we were her own parents. So I'm sure glad I didn't jump out a window in the darkest time. It would have been rather foolish of me in any case, since our windows are so very close to the ground.
