I know this is gray and fuzzy, not specific like you like. But the US has changed for the worse; there used to be a feeling that "we are all in this together", and "a rising tide lifts all boats". None of us were all that different.

You're absolutely right. And you know what.....I have had it with this war. Its time to take it to the streets. Bush and his cronies just don't get it!

Read this one carefully.........it will make you ill.

Its hard not to be fuzzy about this. You can point to specific facts to bolster the argument but how to weigh each fact is subjective.

I disagree with your conclusions, but I don't think fuzziness is a problem, its to be expected on either side of such an argument. Recognizing the uncertainties and the different ways of looking at the situation is just being honest.

I do think the rich have gotten richer both in absolute and relative terms. But the rest of the country has gotten richer even if at a lower rate over the years and decades. Also many of the rich are not the same people or the direct decendents of the previous generations rich.

I think the typical working class family, or even the typical middle class family, finds it more difficult to meet their expectations, but I think that is mostly a matter of higher expectations.
