That's just wrong. AND if you have a problem with me and my posts, IMO you should have flamed me directly - stabbed me to my face. As for - aren't we all ILLEGAL aliens. NOT me. Not my family. - the last to arrive was my Norwegian great-grandmother. She passed through Ellis Island - LEGALLY. She waited her turn. Novel! My great, great etc grandfather was here before and during the Revolutionary War. I care deeply about my country and for all the beleagured AMERICANS of ALL nationalities forced to pay for this nonsense and the nonsense of Iraq. We can't take care of our own citizens let alone MILLIONS of opportunists who care nothing for us. If that is a narrow view - Yes, I am guilty. Las gafas no pueden ayudar los que nunca veran.

It's the willful destruction of the lower rungs of the American economic ladder that people should be focused on. The fat-cat fascist elite just loves playing on the emotional insecurities of the working class evangelicals. While at the same time destroying the livelihoods of these people, and creating greater insecurity. The example I'm most familiar with is the remarkable transformation in the building trades. I live in one of the most lily-white racially segregated places in the nation, and yet even here I was reminded of the fact that lots of today's construction workers have quite a bit of trouble understanding everyday English. Quite a turnaround from the days of my career in construction when I could count on not only a sense of civility, but an educated workforce. Today, you either have resentful gringos or grateful wetbacks to chose from as a workforce. And the wages have been cut to 50% or less what they were 15 years ago (in constant dollars). No wonder the Anglos are resentful. And no wonder the elites are trying to eradicate birth control. The only thing that the creepy, corrupt Republican elite cares about any longer is cheap labor. Whether it is imported, or the jobs are exported to China and the other sweatshop nations. The mystery to me is why the trailer trash Republicans keep voting to cut their own throats, economically speaking.
