I agree that the attack of nerves is understandable. I don't always do well when when I'm surprised by something out of context, certainly not by helicopters on my wings. But the monumental stupidity was, well, monumental. And if you know you're lost over DC, the sudden appearance of helicopters shouldn't be such a surprise.

Change of subject.

What do you thing about moving all those DOD employees out of Arlington offices because the buildings are not far enough off the street to meet post 9/11 criteria? That seems an incredible waste to me to retroactively apply such a standard to a bunch of bureaucrats, whatever their affiliation. A contracting officer or a personnelist for the Army is no more a target of terrorists than one for the Labor Department or the Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation.
