The neighbors seem to have finished cutting down their trees. We're hoping that the underground drainage system neighbor number one put in (I"m not sure if it's completed, actually) to divert neighbor number two's water will divert it from us, too. We'll see.

The footing of our house is now stone. Would the tiles be installed deep under the stone? I'd hate to touch that stone. If you have a very old house you're afraid to do anything drastic--you never know what you'll find. Some other people on this road decided to do some work on their old house, built at about the same time ours was, and they ended up with nothing except the original pine floor. Oh the horror.
