And what makes you think they are totally stupid and did not know this? This is what the whole rush project was all about. Invade before there can be proof of no WMD You seem to think that they are both stupid and masochists, to trumpet a cause that they knew would blow up in their faces, instead of emphasizing Saddams flouting of UN resolutions, mistreatment of the Iraqi people, non-adherence to cease-fire terms, and support of terrorists, all of which were also reasons to invade. Instead, you say, they concentrated their arguments on the one cause that they knew would be shown up as false as soon as they got there... You can believe Bush is pretty Machiavellian, and still conclude that this line of reasoning doesn't make any sense.
