Ray I’m not familiar with Vic Sprandeo's 1-2-2B-3 pattern. As I understand it an Island reversal is a combination of an exhaustion gap (a gap that occurs at the end of an important trend, and signals that the trend is ending…..one like EMC had at the end of the downtrend that started in the beginning of January and exhausted itself with gap down on 4/15) in one direction and a breakaway gap( a gap that occurs on the completion of an important price pattern and usually signals the beginning of an important price move) in the other direction within a few days (one like EMC had at 4/15, 4/18 with gap up 4/19). Usually resulting in two or three trading days standing alone with gaps on either side (the island). Just like EMC did. YHOO doesn’t have that exhausted gap that EMC had thats why it's not an island reversal(no island).
