I don't know where you are but an uncontrolled deer herd is hard to deal with. The problem seems to be once they know there are no predator's after them, people, wolves, etc, they truly turn into big unafraid rodents. Everyone I know in town here that has tried the various products say they don't work. The deer quickly figure out it doesn't bother them. I'm certain though your bubble wrap idea won't work. I think I've seen some recipes using peppers also that folks swore by. I will try and relocate.

How about a good sized dog with the invisible fence to control the dog.

Here we go again. The solution to deer overpopulation is hunting. You don't have to do it yourself, just hold an open mind to the proposition and let the Fish and Game department take care of it.

Forget deer sprays and deer birth control. IF they work, they are EXPENSIVE and ineffective relative to well-managed hunting seasons.

I think the correct term is pressure tank sprayer. They look like this.

Another thing I've thought of doing but haven't gotten around to yet is installing plastic sheeting on the basement ceiling.
