Well as you know if it goes on long enough nature will win. In the hunting or non hunting argument we can let hunters control herd size or let nature control. Personally I like a healthy herd and healthy forest so I opt for hunters. Letting nature take its course involves destruction of the environment due to over grazing followed by starvation and disease. I don't understand how that is humane.

But I guess the end result is the same, eventually the herd size will be reduced.
