Semi Equipment: Bull trap, fundamentals always trump money flows -- BofA

BofA out noting a bit of positive news on the margins for semi-equipment mixed with money flows is putting a bid under the semi-equipment stocks. Money flows are probably the bigger impact because the news flow in the group remains mixed. Money exiting the basic materials and industrial sectors appear to be finding a home in the semiconductor sector because semi's have underperformed. It is a trade that will likely disappoint because the firm thinks semi-equipment fundamentals will take another step lower when the memory vendors pull back on cap-ex. Similar rallies in stock prices in the semi equipment sector over the last 12 months have ended with sharp down drafts in stock prices.
