yuck! Take a look at those GM Denali's. You have GOT to be kidding me.

I know you are not purely a tech guy- at some point, believe it or not, GM and F will be buys as a contrarian play. My rationale is that hybrids or other fuel efficient vehicles will become "necessity purchases" in about a year or so as these monstermobiles become out of favor. I know gas is declining, but not by enough, and driving an escalade is going to become unfashionable.

BTW I have actually heard the rationale for that tax cut for these vehicles before. It is mostly historical, I know. But as soon as that thing came down, *everybody* knew this was really just a major incentive for all these sole proprietors, beauty shop owners, real estate agents and whoever to go out and buy one of these boats. There was massive debate about it when the tax cut was passed, and I even know 2 people who bought large vehicles just because of this incentive. Otoh, incentives for fuel efficiency were nowhere to be found.
