The Jews had nowhere to go but to Palestine. The UN partitioned the place. 1947-48 is when the modern history of the two state solution began. Pals still dont have a state. Blame their leaders for this and blame the Jews for any of the excesses in their treatment of the Pals but dont do the latter without the former. Between 1947 and now, the Israelis have not been perfect in their treatment but there were plenty of times that the Pals could havae been free of israeli rule if the arab leaders recognized israel and if the locals were given self rule. Do you know that in 1967 when the israelis got the West Bank, many palestinians were happy because of the poor treatment they had gotten under jordan. mike
