Sorry but those reports were anecdotal and they've stopped as quickly as they started.

Some of the reports are of the type where there really could be nothing but anecdotal evidence. Others are based on real numbers. And they haven't stopped they continue.

No, they haven't. They've stopped as quickly as they started.

Its the equivalent of street gangs in this country causing this country to fall into chaos. Only once were they able to do that.......in LA in the early 90s until law enforcement and the state got its act together. It took less than two weeks.

LA intentionally took a relatively passive response to the initial rioting.

It did not take a passive approach..........the Mayor and the Chief of Police were fighting. The Chief pulled his men at the last minute. Conditions had been worsening in the city for years. There was mismanagement and corruption.....conditions very similar to Iraq. The police were unhappy, the people were unhappy and no one was willing to work together. Again, like Iraq.

It was probably a mistake. If the cops stay away from the riot (except maybe protecting a few point targets, or attacking any spread in to wealthier neighborhoods) the rioting can keep going for awhile and really destroy the neighborhood. It can be reasonably argued that the US was too passive in response to the initial looting in Iraq, but the situation was sort of complex. If it was a mistake it was a more understandable one than what happened in LA.

Your assessment ignores how bad conditions were in the city before the rioting even began. And the rioting continued for nearly two weeks AFTER the National Guard were brought in to quell it. And we heard gunshots on a nightly basis everywhere in the city for a year after the riots had ended. During the riots, thousands of buildings had been burned down and destroyed. Anarchy ruled LA.

Conditions in LA were similar but not as bad as in Iraq. Near complete anarchy exists in Iraq today.....it has existed for over two years and there is no end in sight. Iraq is out of control and the US Army is unable to get it under control. Now US generals are talking ten years. Its all BS. They can not do the job because the job is impossible.
