I've always thought athletics should be outside the school (join rec leagues if you want to play sports) and gym class is a waste of time better spent learning something useful. The no competition idea is just the next notch in dumbing the schools down even further. Sure, get rid of grades, give out diplomas for nothing. Its like any type of inflation. It doesn't fool anybody. Without grades, college acceptance will be based on exams. Without grades, employers of high school students will probably start giving their own tests.

I've always thought that large schools were crushing to the self esteem of most kids.
