The former Reform was all for free votes in the House and they were laughed out of the system. I'm afraid that we must change our constitution because God is mentioned in the preamable. Marriage was instituted to provide the safe place to bear and raise children. Marriage is in the eyes of God. By all means let everyone have their civil unions, partnerships but don't call it marriage. What next, will we allow multiple partners and call that marriage. Well we have in Bountiful BC, but no politician wants to stick his neck out and stop it. What about Ted and his favourite goat. Sorry Teds of this world. Yes let's have a free vote on the use of the word marriage.
